Ceramic Art Tiles

The tiles are created entirely in our studio; all are handmade one of a kind. The tiles are made in the sgraffito style. "I paint the tile with black slip and scratch my design in the surface of the tile revealing the light colored clay underneath. After the initial bisque firing, a clear overglaze is applied and fired at a much higher temperature. My subjects are inspired by the birds, reptiles and mammals of
New Mexico where Blue Steel Studio, LLC is located."
